Established in 1998, GCE is a young, ambitious small business. For more than 4 years, GCE has committed itself to quality service and client satisfaction, becoming a leading-edge provider of information technology (IT) services such as custom software development, production operations control and support, and management, organizational, and business improvement services to the Federal Government. We have provided past customers such as the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and Department of Transportation (DOT) with innovative applications for enhancing their business processes, enabling them to realize cost efficiencies, provide better customer service, and introduce new business capabilities.
As a leader in large system integration, GCE recently delivered the first phase of a major migration of USCG financial systems as part of the agency’s Departmental Accounting and Financial Information System (DAFIS) project. This project includes the integration of more than 30 legacy systems into one complete financial system using Web technologies such as Java, XML, and Oracle.
Since the Bush Administration’s announcement of plans to create the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and because USCG will be the department’s largest member agency, DAFIS has become an even more critical system and could very well become the core accounting system for this new executive level department. If DAFIS is chosen as the core accounting system for DHS, GCE is positioned to be the lead developer responsible for integrating future DHS member agencies like FAA, INS, and FEMA.
In addition, USCG honored GCE’s President Ray Muslimani for his successful leadership of the Large Unit Financial System project. This project includes the transitioning of existing mainframe-based financial systems to a fully integrated Web-based system as well as the use of innovative technologies such as Oracle Lite. GCE began the project Reengineering the existing PowerBuilder application into a Web application using JAVA, XML, XSLT, and SOAP. Recently, the project has grown to include the development of a mobile version of the application called LUFS To Go. GCE’s LUFS To Go uses innovative mobile computing technologies and will be deployed on all USCG cutters using Oracle Lite as its database platform. All three versions of LUFS take full advantage of XML and its broad data exchange capabilities.
It’s no surprise to us that XML has become the industry standard for exchanging data. We have been using XML from the beginning. In fact, our company mission drives all of us here at GCE to find new ways to use new technology, from software development technologies like XML, XSLT, and SOAP to hardware methodologies like server clustering. We employ experts in all areas of the IT industry who are trained to recognize innovation and the obstacles that may arise, analyze requirements, and implement the best technologies and solutions to meet our client’s needs. We look around the technology bend so you won’t have to. Call us gurus, geeks, or whatever—we love this stuff!
Our commitment, to our customers, our staff and the technologies we use allows us to consistently provide efficient, effective, and economical delivery of high-quality analysis, programming, and support services.
We are committed to connecting you with solutions that connect you with success.
